We had the pleasure of attending the Meet the CIOB event on January 29th at the Europa Hotel in Belfast. The gathering attracted over 200 attendees, including more than 70 young individuals from schools and colleges, all eager to explore the vast opportunities within the construction sector.
The event featured insightful presentations from industry leaders such as Jonathan Payne FCIOB, Chair of the Northern Ireland Hub, Yvonne Conway MCIOB, Vice Chair, and Ronan O'Neill MCIOB, Tomorrow's Leaders Representative. They emphasised the importance of mentorship, training programs, and collaboration to tackle industry challenges.
We were particularly impressed by the emphasis on inspiring the next generation of construction professionals. As Sarah Hallinan, Region Manager for Ireland and Northern Ireland, aptly stated, "Giving young people the chance to see the vast opportunities and benefits of a career in construction is absolutely essential for the future of our industry."
Engaging with both seasoned professionals and enthusiastic newcomers provided us with fresh perspectives and reinforced our commitment to fostering growth and innovation in the construction industry.
