This scheme included the excavation, installation and reinstatement of a dedicated foul sewer, storm sewer and pumping main to serve a new housing development on the Gortgonis Road in Coalisland. Works included:

  • Installation of approx. 240m of 300mm internal diameter storm sewer
  • Installation of approx. 110m of 200mm internal diameter foul sewer.
  • Installation of approx. 410m of 90mm internal diameter rising main.
  • Construction of approx. 1No. 1500mm dia. pre-cast concrete manholes.
  • Construction of approx. 9No. 1200mm dia. pre-cast concrete manholes.
  • Connect 5No. existing gullies to new storm sewer.
  • Supply & install 1 new gully and connect to new storm sewer.
  • Provide traffic management & Site Security
  • Reinstatement of roads as per NIRAUC.
  • The testing of sewers and provision if a CCTV DVD and report following construction.

The contract duration was 4 weeks and held the challenge of works located on a very busy B class road located on the suburbs of Coalisland. Liaison took place with Transport NI to prepare detailed traffic management plans that would have minimum impact on residents and businesses in the area. Works required road closures and diversions at key times and traffic lights set up for the period of the works. Those affected were always notified and kept informed . Liaison took place with local businesses to try and accommodate their needs. Works were delivered on time and in budget.
