Commissioned by the Northern Ireland Housing Executive, most of the environmental improvement works took place in the Portadown area on the main Garvaghy Road and the adjoining side streets.
Works comprised demolition and site clearance including the removal of existing vegetation, breaking out existing surfacing, demolition of existing blockwork walls, removal of existing street furniture.
Various car parks and footpaths were constructed with a bitmac surface and works included all excavations, kerbing, placement and compaction of stone, bitmac surfacing and white lining.
Drainage works included new pipework, gullies, land drainage and construction of grease and silt traps.
Electrical works included working with our nominated electrical sub-contractor to provide cabling and commissioning of new streetlighting including fitting LED lanterns to columns, jointing cables, terminations in new kiosks and decommissioning of redundant services.
The project also included the supply and installation of street furniture and bollards as well as landscaping works including sowing out area in grass and planting of specimen trees.
