Plant Operator (Excavator)

As a Plant Operator, your main responsibility will be to carry out groundwork using an excavator (or dumper/roller) in a safe and efficient manner. However other duties will include general groundworks whenever excavator work is not required. Your exact responsibilities may vary depending on the clients and company requirements. However, some common duties of a Plant Operator include:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating an excavator (between 1.5 and 20 tonnes)
  • Operating a Forward Tipping Dumper / Roller
  • Carry out daily plant checks and report any issues
  • General Groundworks
  • Operating other site equipment
  • Digging trenches for utilities
  • Working alongside other site operatives
  • Other labour duties as required, as directed by the Site Foreman/Contracts Director,

Essential Criteria: 

  • Experience working on a Civils Site
  • Valid CSR Card
  • Plant Operators Licence (excavator, dumper, roller)
  • Drivers Licence

Desirable Criteria:

  • Streetworks Operative Card
